A miniature house model is a very small replica of a house that is created using various methods and materials. These miniatures can be found at model building, entertainment, and model railway fairs. Alongside miniature cars, boats, and figures, miniature houses hold a significant place in the DIY (Do-it-yourself) hobby and architectural and HO projects.

Miniature house models are made in a smaller scale than normal and inserted into larger overall models (model railways, village, city models) as part of the background.

Design Steps

These houses are crafted from cut cardboard or wood panels. The walls are drawn, and the walls are cut to outline the miniature of the house. Placement of windows, doors, and furniture is considered to leave room. A miniature house model is not complete without its additions such as a garden, balcony, or pool. Doll figures are also added to bring the model to life. The model maker eventually installs LED lights to illuminate the miniature.

A miniature house model can sometimes exhibit artistic features, either as an architectural creation or to present the building's sales plan. The model maker designs the model according to customer requirements. It's possible to separate the parts of the house to show different perspectives and achieve the desired interior layout.

These miniature models have a landscaping component and fit well with village models. For instance, they might be placed near a bridge or a mill to simulate rural life.
